Want to change my turbo, any advice on what to get and how much i should look to pay? Got a 2004 wrx, changed the TMIC to sti, put a full hayward & scott exhaust inc decat and up pipe, flat panel filter, HKS SSQV, had a remap twice now AND RUNNING 285BHP...
Just want to break 300bhp, going to put pink injectors in and wondering how to water cool my TMIC. Any advice would be great

A VF34, 35 or 43 would be nice for your setup, but I wouldn't bother with the water spray. Any of the above turbo would see to well past 300bhp and are available s/h quite often.

I had an 02 WRX with 255 walbro, pinks, VF35 and STi TMIC, full de-cat and it made 320bhp/300lbs. It pulled really nicely

Is changing the turbo something that could be done at home with out too many probs?

I've seen guys say stick loads of wd40 on the turbo over a few days prior removal.

Difficulty rating out of ten?

Either the 34 or 35 would do the same job... me personally, I had the 35 and was happy with the result, but quizz the guys on here about it... start a new thread... "34 or 35?"

As long as you dont get a twin scroll you'll be alright. Eventho the twin scroll is the nuts, it means changing your down pipe etc.

ASIANGUNNER - changing the turbo is a fairly big job, but the problem lies in the studs that join the turbo to the down pipe... there's only a couple studs, but they will be rusted on to f*** and if you snap one of those you got big problems!!!
