hi there,

i have a 1998 impreza wrx with about 200`000 miles on the clock...
everytime i want to start when the engine is hot and sits longer then 1 hour i have to crank like an idiot... engines comes for 1 sec goes out and i can crank like hell then it starts ( after 20 seconds of cranking ) with a big black cloud....

recently changed to sort the problem out:

- maf
- fuel pump
- fuel filter
- spark plugs ngk irridium ones
- o2 sensor

bevor i had the problems i installed a walbro fuel pump, i think since then it smells like fuel from the back but can`t find it ...

what could be the problem?

temperature sensor?

other problem is if i drive normal the engine is spluttering a little bit

i think it is something like wrong fuel/air mixture because last time i pulled out one spark plug and it was full of fuel...

this problem is making me crazy like hell!
