Wink subaru impreza question

hi guys.

i have a subaru impreza non turbo year 99 t plate
i will shortly be doing a oil and filter change, what oil do you recomend using please, car has done 133,000 miles now, was going to use 10w 40 semi synthetic, would this be the right one? or recomendations?

I,d use a genuine Subaru oil filter aswell as the 10/40 semi synthetic oil.

Shell Gemini 10w40 is the oil originally recommended by Subaru, I've done 100k on this from new, no engine problems yet touch wood.

Genuine parts are the same as any good after market part just hasn't got the main dealer stamp and price to go with it. Most Gen. parts are made by these companies anyway for the main dealer. Go to a good parts supplier like JMC, Part Co, Motorquip etc. that supply the trade in your local area and you'll get em cheaper! You can get your oil there too
