Default MY94 WRX header wrap smoking...???

Hi all.

Bought this MY94 WRX about 2 months ago. Every now and then I notice a little smoke coming from the bonnet when stopped at lights etc. When I pull over to inspect, the smoke seems to be coming from the bottom of the engine bay from the area of the header wrap on the pipes. After driving for a bit, It goes away. It will be fine for a week and then come back again..?? Is this Header heat wrap prone to start smoking with age?? It was on there when I bought the car and the burning smell is an odd smell. Doesnt smell like burning oil or anything. Thankyou in advance

It could just be water , i used to have this problem when it rained.
If it was oil, you'd smell it.

Yep!! It was the smallest dribble of oil leaking from the valve cover gasket. I bought this car about 2 months ago, and was shown the receipt for the valve cover gaskets that had been replaced, and they are leaking already??? As my oil was contaminated with fuel due to running on 3 cylinders, do you think this may have had anything to do with the leak? Should I replace the gasket again, or tighten the bolts, whack some gasket sealer in there as well?? Whats the best way to stop these buggers leaking onto the headers??

Thanks in advance
