Default Dead Scooby (please help)!!!

Disaster.

Started my Scooby to come back home from work and it cuts out. I then manage to start it again and rolled it down the hill and sort it would turn into life. No. Car cuts out again on the road so after starting again I pulled into a petrol station and it died again.

The car ignition turns and then you can rev it to around 1500rpm but it keeps dropping back down and then eventually cuts out and the ignition goes out. The battery light and engine management light stay on but thats it. You simply cannot rev it more than 1500 rpm.

Anybody any ideas of the top of their head? Its a 2005 blobeye WRX if that helps.

Disconnect the battery to reset the ECU.

If after a reset it runs ok then.... ok
If the CEL light stays on or the problem continues and there are no obvious loose hoses then get to a dealer/specialist and onto a diagnostics computer.
