after removing my up pipe ready for replacement with one of harveys along with ported headers theres a sensor on it im assuming the o2 sensor or something? and i take it this does not go back in to harveys as i cant rember seeing hole? but will this not throw engine management light on then??
any advice welcome grant
The up-pipe has an EGT (Gas temp) sensor and not an O2 sensor. If you do a search you can fit a resistor, but I can't remember the value to fool the ECU, or have the EGT mapped out of the system - it was never fitted to STIs iirc
thanks for the info jon im not too bright yet how would i get it mapped out the system does this mean going to a mapper? as a standard oned around £600 this was not the plan lol
ok jon done a wee search so if the up pipe comes with hole bung it with a bolt etc then get a 2.2 ohm apparently and solder /fit to the other end of socket yes? will i get these in halfords anyone? was hoping not to have to wait days on it?
Its a 2.2 kOhm resistor 1/2 watt.
No need to solder in place, just clip the resistor legs to size and push fit in. Seal over with some tape.
I'd get a decent bolt that's short to avoid being an obstruction and won't rust & seize.
