Default Dump Valves

Hi everyone, im new to this as the scooby is the 1st turbo charged car ive owned. Ive got a 2005 wrx. Buying a dump valve but have recieved mixed opinions on which 1 to go for. I want an equal balance of performance and nois....Welcome to any suggestions!

Leave the standard one on. Its the best one for the job.

Is it really?! Thanks for the advice! Do i still keep the standard 1 even when its mapped etc.? I'd imagine it doesnt make much of a difference

i think its personal choice tbh, alot on here will tell you to stick with the standard one which will work just fine even when remapped, but if you are to change to an aftermarket one the dont go for a cheap one, HKS are probably up there with the best and forge are good, i have a Turbosmart adjustable on mine and i have had no issues with it so far.

same here, i have a turbosmart one, which i brought from a fellow member as he fitted a front mount. seems fine on my wrx anyway, apart from the odd chatter/stall when driving

Your car has one: it's a recirculating type as fitted by the engine designers, Subaru.

If there were owt to be gained by fitting a VTA type, they would do it, but they don't

You CAN, however fit a BETTER recirculating type: mine has a Forge one.

how do you have yours set mate? hard , soft or inbetween

in-between setting. so it only blows off under hard use.

yes mate, it tends to do it when pushing over 0.5bar of boost

I have a GFB wrx hybrid dump valve thingy it sounds awesome when you put your foot down cost about £180 tho

Same here.

I have Forge's OEM pattern one (but all metal rather than OEM plastic) for my MY93-96 car.
