had the car for over a year and just noticed someone had blanked off the 2nd charge air entry to my standard TMIC! car is a MY97 WRX wagon, standard now but got VF23 etc lined up for near future. Car made pretty good power on RR, only 10bhp or so down on "official" figure at 225bhp.

So is this a big deal?? will the IC be working significantly less efficently?

Yes it will. The charged air is being concentated in just one area of the IC and not more evenly when using both entries to the end tank. Refit the IC pipe correctly by unblanking it and refiiting etc.

I wonder why it was blanked off in the first place? - makes no sense.

 

yeah it is starange. no restricto pill in her originally either.
