Default Timing Belt

Desperate for some peace of mind here

I've changed the cam belt on my classic, lined up all the timing marks on the new belt and the cam pulleys all fine, then I've rotated it a complete belt revolution by hand.
My problem is that the belt marks and the cam pulley marks don't line up after, I'm thinking this is fine as the pulley marks all line up perfect every revolution.

Any one put my mind at ease before I start the car up?

Hope I explained it ok, Thanks
JBJ

Are you using an OEM/Gates belt for an IMPREZA?! I might be wrong, but I have a sketchy memory of a thread on here about you can fit an incorrect belt with at least an extra 'tooth' (I might be talking ****e though ). Just a thought.

JGM is good on timing/cambelts - ask him.

I wouldn't drive it untill you get an 'all-clear' - don't bend those valves unnecessarily...

hi i had this with mine, the white lines on the belt didnt come back to the same place after 1 rotation so i removed it a done it again.
I turned it over and it did the same again with the white lines but all the pulleys where in the correct position so i fired it up and it was fine.

Hi
Yeah its an OEM belt,

bmposer -Thanks, I thought it would be ok, but its nice to hear someone else did the same, I've actually removed and refitted it 4 times to be sure I did it right.

Thanks
