Default 1999 turbo 2000 exhaust question

Ok guys,

I have this dammed horrible rattle from the exhaust on my car and its really annoying i have noticed underneath on the manifold metal cases its badly corroded and so is the centre part of the exhaust section not actual exhaust just the heat-shields!

My question is if I went out and bought a ninja sport cat downpipe, decat centre section and removed all the heatshields would this cause any damage to my engine or bring on any engine warning lights without being remapped?

A friend of mine who used to have a scooby said it would cause problems and he would not advise it so just want a second opinion really?

what u guys think?

As long as its the standard ecu there should be no issues, but I would run the car on super unleaded fuel (its better for the car anyway )
