Any point in going to a full de-cat?
Hi, i have a VF23 and Apexi ECU already sitting about but not sure if i should look at getting a decat or sports cat down pipe?
sports cat will make less power and is more expensive... BUT obviously i won't need to change it out every MOT and i'm only looking for 300bhp (bit more is a bonus but not after lots of transmition trouble etc) anyway.
i intend on keeping the TMIC, and i will probably install 440s and 255l/h fuel pump.
Car is a MY97 WRX wagon.
So de-cat or sports cat??
Thanks for looking
Ash

Hi,
I put a sports cat on mine, and it made 340 bhp no problem, but when heading for 400 it was de-cat and 3" system time, so it came off !
Before mapping the biggest change was in the sharpness of the throttle response which was very much improved.

P.S. Find a "friendly" MOT tester !
