Default Is this setup ok ?

Firstly, I`ve spent ages searching about the carbon canister connections but have not found the answer to my question.

I`ve just fitted this new induction setup;

Now, on the old pipe that went from the intake pipe to the MAF, there was a connection that went to a 2 way valve and then to the carbon canister, but on the new red silicone pipe, there`s no means of connecting to the carbon canister.

So I`ve blanked off the small pipe that went to the old black pipe, see below;

My only question is, is this safe or MUST it be connected back into the intake setup. If it does then can I put some some of take off on the hose joiner between the filter and red pipe ?

Any help would be great.

I'm not 100% but I would have said that it was a vent with a non-return valve in it, so its probably a good idea to unblock it to prevent the canister from pressurising up. I'd try and put some kind of filter over it if you can and see if you get anything out of it over the next few days.

Andy.

I`ve gone back to the old setup for now. I`m going to modify the hose joiner and fit some sort of `take off' so that I can re-connect that black hose to the intake.

Also found that my top rad hose is split, still, that`s just an excuse to fit some new silicone hoses over the bank holiday.
