Default Jacking points

Hi,

I need to be able to jack up my forester and place it on stands todo the rear brakes.

Becuase of the height and suspension travel my usual jack isn't high enough and I also wondered where best to jack the forester up from. Can I use the rear springs where the connect to the chassis?

Cheers, Jeff

The propper jacking point for a trolley jack is usually the rear diff. (it is on a Impreza and Legacy anyway).

Hi Mate thanks for the tip. Is the rear diff strong enough to bear the weight of the car when lifting it?? Jeff

Double check the instruction manual if you have it as it will show it in there. Unfortunately our autodata subscription has lapsed, so I can't double check it for sure.

But its the same diff as the Impreza; of which the jacking point is the diff.

Anyhoo, I found this extract from the owner's manual:

OK Thanks Ali-B. I will check the manual. Cheers, Jeff
