Default 320bhp

Hey all im going to be gettin a 95 wrx classic in a few months time and looking at my option of a bit more oomph. I want to acheive a good 320bhp, whats safe to run at and will run at all day with no problems. At the mo the current mods im looking at our, apexi ecu with hand commander, full exhaust system with no cats, induction kit and a remap from the racing line. Would this be enough to reach this figure?

I also know il need to make the car safer to take this, at the mo im thinkin, uprated tein suspension allround, front rear sturt brace, half roll cage in the back with no rear seats, and uprated front brakes to 4 pots.

What you all think?

Cheers...

You will need uprated injectors (yellow 440cc), front mount intercooler, Exhaust system (as above) and the induction kit, Ecu & remap

You may also want to uprate the fuel pump, and some mappers will want to install a 2 or 3 bar map sensor.

This should then give you safe power levels of upto 340BHP (can be tuned down), just be careful of the gearbox as they are the weakest link and have been known to give up the ghost around the 350BHP mark (obviously the torque is the killer not bhp)

Good Luck

You could fit a newage STI top mount I think.....!?

Needs some modding though.

And what sort of price would i be looking at, and would it be safe?

either a wrx or sti from a newage. sti would be better but the wrx is still an improvemnt over what you have.

I certainly wouldn't look at 700CC's unless i was aiming for the 500 mark and if you want that figure it will need to come with a stronger gearbox. If 320 is your primary goal and you will not want more for sure then 440's will be fine, although you could go for 500CC's or 550cc's (Mark @ Lateral Performance Ltd | Home can sort the 440's to flow 500's)

TMIC cooler can be used as mentioned above, although these can cost a fair bit, and they will reach their limits. WHere as the FMIC is a future proof investment, but then it is your choice. WRX or STI from a later newage will be more than ample for your 320 goal though.

It may also pay to speak to a mapper, i.e. if you have someone in mind for the mapping they could advise you as to what would be required.

Good Luck

Is a fmic an expensive investment, and what order would be best of doing the mods?

Nope it's not that expensive, a Autobahn IC will Suffice. You will obviously have to jiggle the hoses to fit and possibly cut and reclamp with hose clamps and Silicon pipe.

I would do Injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, induction and IC before remap regardless.

You will be able to do exhaust, induction, IC and fuel pump without depending to much on the remap. Although you should not boost until it's mapped. Injectors will need to be fitted just prior to the mapping takes place.

But again mate you need to speak to your mapper to confirm the above, as they will obviously know more about this than i do. Trust me it's the best advice and it will only take 5 mins of your time.

Once you have spoken to someone just post on here and tell everyone as it's nice to know whats been said.

Good Luck
