hi there,

is this a CDB or a semi-CDB?


and when a cylinder is bored out for a 2.1/2.3 how much will actually be removed as this has some battle scars from this......



will radweld be able to sort this????

and no i didn't paint it

looks like a cdb to me.normally when you have a block rebored they go with 0.5 oversize pistons or a little more if the bores are badly scored.if you want to go 2.1 you will need a 2.5 crank putting in.

Yes it's a CDB for sure, and minor scars can be sorted on these but if your thinking of going 97.5mm bore (2.33 or 2.35) then you will have to get this block Linered to suit. So as suggested by Bigarf above see if you can get a way with oversized pistons .5 or 1.0mm or even 1.5mm speak to a machine shop and see if they could bore and hone this for these oversizes.

Personally i wouldn't go as far as a 1.5mm, oh and by the way don't even bother repairing the heads (don't know is you are). Just buy the casts from here or fleabay and transfer the drivetrain.

Thanks for the replies, the heads are both scrap due to the drivetrain being loose on both!

This is the engine that has come out of a car i have a v3 sti to put in so i will be selling all bits i can.
