Got a Mines ECU in MY97 JDM STi and I'd just like it mapped for UK fuel... rather than going down the road of a new ECU + mapping, is there anyone or anywhere that'll map em??

 

Dont think you can map those your options are piggyback ecu chip or new ecu afaik.

I just had a thought, can I replace the MINES ECU with a standard UK version 3 STi ECU?


Will the UK ECU just plug and play in my JDM STi??



My car has no mods apart from full decat on a 3" system.

 

No such thing as a UK STI in classic shape BUT get another STI V3 ecu and it should be fine.
Why not see how the car is running on 99 RON first?

 

i'm running on 99ron alread and the car runs absolutely fine, but even a standard jdm ecu will be mapped for 102ron...

i just want to avoid blowing the bottom end by running on a jdm fuel setting, it's detting all wrong and i dont need a knock link to tell me that.

not really that keen on a piggy back chip...

apart from using octane booster everytime (and that cost will mount up fast the way i go thru fuel ) i guess the only option is to get an apexi or simtek...

gutted, i missed a brand new apexi with commander for £375 on fleabay...

i better keep looking!

Standard jdm map is not 102 RON but that is neither here nor there really.
Just look for a standard V3 STI ecu on ebay or any impreza breakers

£50 plus post if u want it

Only the later version 5/6 STI's were mapped for 100 ron fuel, version 4 and below should be for 97 ron

well some people say Mines by name Mines by nature .
Problem with the Jap mappers is they do like pushing their maps to the extreme.

As for detting wrong not sure what you mean as it shouldn't be detting at all.

If you buy a standard ecu and run it on 99 ron fuel (V power or Tescos) then it should be fine.Take your car to a good rolling road and get them to give you a power figure ,see how well it's fuellinf etc only costs about £50.
If in doubt buy a completely standard ecu (6S iirc)
