Default ECU

is there any where i can tell what ecu I have like is there coding on them or something to give away what year it came from as i have had my ecu change and the one i got back is a 3 plug one but im sure my late 97 wrx had a four plug one

Should have a number/letter or letter/number combo on the casing

i just have the board it has a blue label on the yellow plugs 000 d28

Perhaps whoever you got it off maybe able to help or even taking a picture of the board and posting it up as it will serial numbers on the chips.

I thought post 96 were 3 plug

yeah so did i i reckon there has been a mix up when i had my sim tec done i drove off and then went back for my ecu a week later ive never really thought about it until today im wonder if they got it mixed up but i had all this done about a year ago
