Default Over boosting or clutch slipping?

I have a 96 Jdm Wrx sportswagon, have just plumbed back in the boost solenoid as it had been bypassed,there is no pills in any of the pipes from the solenoid, it has Hks induction kit which I am about to change back to norm just after the turbo kicks in between four/five thou revs it revs up is this clutch or overboosting bearing in mind car is not modified?

My plan was to have clutch replaced but saw few threads on overboosting, what makes you so certain ?

engine revs rising without any increase in road speed is 100% clutch slipping

Thanks to you both, did not want to replace clutch then be in the same boat!

Over boost would cause fuel cut, which feels like you've jumped on the brakes. Clutch slip will see the revs rise, without the car going any faster(as above), usually more noticeable in 4th/5th.

how would i correct over boost?
