OK, here goes !

Car is a 1998 Type R

Short story -

Knackered blowing ****ty exhaust so get new SS one. Driving blowing car to my mechanics and the dash oil light is flickering on and off brightly then dimly etc but eftermarket oil pressure gauge showing all OK and the oil level is perfect ?

Then engine check light comes on driving at low revs to park, check code and its 'Knock sensor' , which seems strange as it came on at low revs ?

Fit new exhaust but original downpipe has a (presumably) EGT sensor after the cat but new downpipe doesn't have a port for it.

So my questions to you good clever people are :

1. Should I worry about the knock sensor warning as it hasnt come on with the new exhaust on ?

2. Is it going to be a problem not using the EGT sensor (if thats what it is) ?

3. Is the dash oil light likely to be a knackered OEM oil pressure sensor and/or wiring ?

Can anyone at least tell me if I'm gonna have problems not using the EGT sensor ?

 

Surely someone must know what this sensor is after the cat ?!?

 

So, no experts on here anymore ?, nor even anypone who cares to help out a fellow confused scooby owner ??

Maybe even someone to post just that they dont know ?!, just so theres a post in here other than mine ?!?!
