Default Bit of a funny sound?

Hi all,

Just a quick one, when the revs touch about 3K a sort of metallic squeak/rattle can be heard from under the bonnet, not loud but you can hear it. When above the 3K and making progress the sounds goes (may be drowned out by engine?) and when coming off the throttle the sound comes back.

What could it be? i've got a 95 WRX with 47,000 on the clock.

Cheers

Don't think so, i had a loose one on my old civic vti n it sounds nothing like, that was more of a raspy/raw sound, but thanks for the suggestion.

Anyone else any other ideas?

As above -could be loose/corroded shields on the up-pipe - get a long screwdriver and push against up-pipe shields and see if noise stops/alters.
