Default subaru manual transmission fluid- how do you check the level?

Had a driveshaft replaced a few months ago and theres still a smell of burnt oil on the exhaust after a long journey (a fair bit of oil dropped out)- replaced and fitted new shaft. I'd like to recheck the level (as a precaution). How do I do this and..... where would I find the dipstick?

Ive done a google search and found the auto transmission one is under the car on the transmission tunnel. Mine is a 2.0 Non-turbo petrol- is it ontop of the engine etc? Any pics welcomed!
