Default Suspected faulty boost solenoid!?!

I have a loud ticking noise coming from my engine, sounds like a tappet but have been told it may be the boost solenoid. Also when driving the car boosts to around 4000 rpm upto about 13psi and then the boost drops to 0psi and wont build up anymore and the revs struggle to gain. When the car has just warmed up and is booted for the first time it seems to boost up ok but after that it reacts as stated above. Does this sound like possible boost solenoid failure??
Cheers

The solenoid is clicking (left hand side) but it also sounds like its comeing from the actual block area, cant really tell though as the zorst is very loud, which is why i am in two minds as to what it is. I will try taking it off and cleaning it, actuator has been changed also. Should the actual solenoid be ticking away at a fast idle ( not on boost ) ??
And millzy how much are you selling the electronic one for?? anymore details??
