What W13 said. It's a generic "WRC-type" copy spoiler intended for a new age car. Look at the profile of the bug/blob/hawkeye boot and you'll soon see what it's supposed to fit. If you've been told it will fit a classic shape car, well it fits in exactly the same way that Impreza bonnet scoops fit on Novas - incorrectly.

cheers for the info guys, i have decided to ask for a refund and have pm'd him although when i pm'd him a few days ago about how he had fitted to a classic when the fittings were different i got no reply and so am assuming he was fully aware, i have also kept the pm he sent me confirming it would fit all classic imprezas. if i dont hear back within 24 hours i will be opening a dispute against him on paypal.

If i hear nothing and do not receive my refund i willname and shame as a last resort so others can be more careful in future.

i dont think im being unreasonable, i put my trust in a fellow scooby owner and feel let down big time.

sellers fault for false advertising and you should complain bout it and open a dispute with paypal for a refund, did you not try fitting it on boot before getting it painted so you knew it would deffinetly fit correct, iv seen this spoiler before on a silver classic and fitment is terrible i can imagine what it looks like in person and how annoyed you are

in fairness to the seller (im not taking sides) i have seen a lot of classics with this spoiler on. whilst the fit is not as good as others, it does go on and some are happy with it.

Presumably the buyers were told the same thing as 2Pac originally was, saw that it looks vaguely like an Impreza spoiler, and didn't stop to think why the bottom surface is the wrong shape.

The fit isn't very good because it's designed for a completely different bootlid. The GC8 lid is flat, whereas the GD one kicks up at the sides - just like this spoiler. Sure, you can stick one on a Corsa if you want (and no doubt someone has), but it's only designed to fit one thing - a new age Impreza saloon. Anything else is a bodge - and that includes the classic shape car.
