Default Bonnet lifting - bonnet pins ?

Hello all
Every time i get up to the sort of speed these cars were made to do the bonnet comes up WAY to far for my liking. I was out this afternoon and a nobel M12 decided he wanted to play

Well i put my foot down & made him realize his car wasn't as fast as he/his mate thought it was. But when we got up to some scary speeds "says the wife" i didnt have the guts cause i thought my scoop was going to fly off & the bonnet flip up.

End result i backed off and he carried on thinking his car was faster.
I cant let this happen again, so i need some bonnet pins.

Has any1 fitted them there self ? if so was it hard ? please could you let me know wat i need to do.

Or if there is a place in the Exeter/devon area that any1 knows that can fit em i would love to know.

Thanks.

i know what you mean,if you drive fast enough if it comes up it should clear your screen and fly straight over the top.

Are you running a non-OEM Bonnet ? I've got a carbon bonnet and had to get some bonnet pins to stop it flapping like a demented chicken's wings LOL

Try googling aerocatch

When it goes it will smash the wind screen and the top of the roof.
Then i will be driving down the road blind looking out the side window to avoid crashing.

I have tried areocatch but they will cost loads to fit "had a quote" and wont go flush cause of the curve of the bonnet. Its a standard bonnet.

As long as the catch isn't faulty, it isn't going to fly open. I've never heard of one doing it without there being either a fault or an idiot involved. They do flap about a bit at speed, so just get used to it.

As for the Noble, if he was a good driver then prepare to be handed your @$$ on major A-roads or bigger, but on minor A and B-roads you'll muller him, especially if weather becomes a factor.

That it aint, lol.

Drop it down m8 and I will take it to our local bodyshop and have it looked at. I know what you mean, that car gives me the same, i'm sure that's gonna bloody fly up any minute feeling too.

Remove the bonnet scoop and fit a flat rcm type vent, this will get rid of the flapping. Had the exact samething on my car till I got rid of the scoop.

If the car hasn't been in a knock & everything is straight I'd try and see if I could get some adjustment or replace the catch. I've never been a fan of pins, they look tacky when new & end up corroding.

If yours was the very tidy light blue WR1 at AJs I'd stay pinless & fix the catch
