just add a decat up pipe, prodrive sportscat downpipe, panel filter fuel pump and a remap, if you want more then add a VF35 and sti injectors before the remap. Thats presuming you are talking about a newage WRX.

I have a fuel pump and 550 injectors which will do you nicely!! Check out the For Sale section (wr1 parts for sale).

If you want to keep it safe then look at handling mods, the power is adequate and a good driver in a PPP'd car with better springs, dampers (or coilovers), ARB's and links (possibly bushes too) will be faster on the road than a car with anything up to 100bhp more. In fact, the high power cars can be such a handful to drive they are often slower on good, challenging roads. Look at my old Scoob in my garage for ideas

with respect i would disagree with the 'wont need a remap' advice. i would agree if you had not done the decat with fuel pump as well as the rest. you could certainly get away without a remap BUT it would not do the car any favours in the long run.

i would listen to what corradoboy has mentioned already about the handling.

for a grand you could get some nice suspension, with all the rest of the handling mods as well as getting it all laser aligned. once you have done this you will be surprised at how much faster your car appears to be on the road.

once you have got used to this then i would consider more power
