How do you reset the ECU?
#1
Here in Botswana there is only 93RON unleaded available so up till now that is what I have been using.
I have managed to source some 97RON but in limited quantities.
How do I reset the ECU to take immediate advantage of the higher octane? rather than wait for the ECU to average out (by which time I will have run out of 97) The dealer here will not be able to help.

disconnect the battery for a few hours or over night
that will reset it, but dont forget they are mapped for 100 ron fuel so it will expect 100 ron from the start so will slowly learn down to 97

Under the dash near the steering column are 4no. connectors. 2no green 2no black. Ignition ON but engine OFF Check Engine Light comes on. Put throttle to floor then back to about half throttle for 2 or 3 secs. Start engine.Fault code will flash on C.E.L. Read code. O.K.= 1/2sec flash on off continuous. If fault, rectify. If O.K. drive in excess of 11kph for over 2mins. (with engine warm) No fault disconnect the 4no. connectors. Done. If fault identify from flashing code. Rectify & repeat proceedure. If it is not very clear what I mean is you connect black to black & green to green @ start of proceedure.
