Knocklink goes nuts on De-Acceleration at speed
On the track of course.
when doing 100 mph the knocklink is just flashin 1 green but when i take my foot off the loud pedal it will light up 2 green and at 140 mph there are 2 green lites lit but again, when de-accelerate they all light up and the red one.
if i put my foot back on the pedal they go back down to the 2 green/1 amber at 140 mph.
but when i coast off the throttle they all lite up and the red for a few seconds.
Anything to worry about ?
should note

Hmm, i do have a loose headers heat shield, it has split at the bolt so it vibrates sometimes but would that really cause enough vibration for the knocklink to pick it up so drastic ???
Only one way to find out..
Try and 'bung' it up some how, even temporarily. A bit of gaffer tape on the cold side should do it..
FWIW, drive train noise does cause KL to go crazy as it sits right on top of bell housing. Mine lights up light a cheap night in blackpool if tyres break traction under power (wheel spin). Coming off the gas at high revs will could cause enough tranny noise to set KL off, but as nick says loose heat shield has to be the first port of call.
Does it not light up if you lift off in say 3rd at similar rpm..?

will try the de-acceleration in 3rd and see if that does the same, dont really de-accelerate in 3rd and kept in 3rd so never noticed.
the heat shield is broke right on the bracket/bolted bit so will see what i can do
cheers
