1995 wrx speedo stopped working

Hi guys my speedo stopped working today which is not a big problem but my cel light came on this evening when i started car then went out 2 mins after any ideas whats going on ? is this normal when speedo stops on this older model does it go in limp mode or something?

Check error code.
Since it's cable driven the cable may have disconnected,broken or the converter (if you have one) may have broken.
The car will only go to 4500revs and 0.5bar boost
