im unsure of the boost pressure but it was mapped to 1.3 bar 2 years ago by powerstation on ecutek, it has headers (< recently) and uppipe, full blitz exh, uprated fuel pump, forge dump valve, k'n air filter and hard pipe, now i didnt give the last turbo (vf35) any real beastings and had it booked for a remap but it just loses all power and starts smoking just as the last two turbos did in under a day!, on the induction side the blades have been hitting the casing but nothing has melted on the exhaust side!

Oil feed problems ? Are there any gauze "strainers" in the system that might be blocked ?

Check the banjo bolt for blockage as Duncan says, also the oil feed pipe, but have you changed the banjo bolt from the one originally supplied with the IHI turbo ?

This will have a small .8mm hole (iirc) suitable for feeding the IHI ball bearing turbos, but often inadequate for a sleeve bearing turbo.

If it has the small hole drill it out. 3mm should do, but make sure you remove the tiny internal filter, and leave it out.

Mark.
