Default Rev counter, rad fan and cutting out issues

The last few weeks my 01 JDM STI with Simtek has been experiencing a number of intermittent faults during driving.... rev counter fails, main rad fans fail, car completely cuts out (as if ignition key has been turned off). Any or all of these can happen at any time. Stopping & restarting clears the problems but they re-occur.

Simtek has been returned for extensive testing but no problems found.

Has anyone experienced similar problems and if so any suggestions on what to check out? Earthing issues seems likely.
