Which Timing Belt for 04 wrx

Default Which Timing Belt for 04 wrx

Hi All

I have a 04 subaru impreza wrx with 45,000 miles on the clock and is due for the timing belt to be changed , I was told to change it at 50,000.

The car is only used for normal driving and just gets opened up the odd time,

Just wondering what would be be the best make of timing belt to use.

Had mine (05 wrx at 40k) done in Feb at API, quite an easy job compared to most timing belts. Should cost ~£200 all in as tensioners should be fine at that age/milage..

I had oil pump modified at same time, just to be on the safe side, as it's an ideal opportunity to do..

ALL cam belts are made by Gates Rubber Co used to be a division of Goodyear - not sure about who owns them now.

Boxes and branding makes no difference they are all the same. A Gates from me is £48.00 + carriage and VAT of fitted at £200.00 inc VAT

sorry to jump on the thread ,how much extra for tensioners and cam seals if needed
