Default power fc boost values

just wondering if anyone on here might know why the peak boost value on my pfc commander will not read higher than 1.23bar when boost is peaking at nearly 1.4 according to the boost controller i'm using ???

any help would be great if i need to change some settings

Early MAP sensor (MY92-96) only reads to just over 1.2bar, to run more boost on a powerFC you either need a boost control kit or (like your car) an external boost controller.

cannot be used on the early car when installed with a PowerFC.. it misreads due to the calibration of it.. from memory is it 0.4bar out..

The only thing missing from the setup at the moment is a boost cut due to the standard map sensor maxxing at 1.23bar so say you have the boost controller running 1.4bar and it overboosts to 1.6bar it will just keep running like that rather than hitting a boost limit.

You can fit the Apexi Boost control kit map sensor to enable a boost limit but the current exchange rate makes that an expensive option..

just make sure all the boost lines are secure (especially actuator and compressor cover to boost solenoid) then you shouldn't have an overboost issue and therefore it will be fine.

Also obviously the commander boost monitor is redundent, but assumnig you have an electronic boost controller it probably displays the boost anyway depending on make.

thanks guys,

what it is,is that i am running 1.3bar ish and its peaking at 1.37/8 have no control issues it is just harder to read boost on the boost controller as it is underneath where the ashtray used to be and obviously the commander is in my line of sight on the air vent.
so would have been easier to monitor and couldn't understand why it was stopping a 1.23bar.
