Default Rear coil spring over extended.

The 93 Liberty wagon i got for my daughter had a flat tyre. My son-in-law jacked up the body (higher and higher) until tyre finally lifted of ground. By now the coil spring was almost fully extended. He went away for a chat with friend and when he got back wheel was almost back on ground. After changing tyre he let car down now there is a loud clunking at low speed in rear quarter. Any ideas?

Default Rear shock stuffed?

Thanks. Shouldn't the shock absorber stop the spring over extending? I'll check the spring seating tomorrow.

Default solved

My brilliant son-in-law had only replaced 2 wheel nuts, the other 3 were rattling around in hub cap. I wonder if he was trying to get rid of my daughter?
