Engine Wiring Harness Compatibility
Hi,
I'm fairly new to this forum, but it already helped me a lot with useful information. So thanks.
Now back to the problem:
I currently have LHD Subaru Impreza MY99 1.6 GL. I also bought a half-cut from JDM V4 STi (RHD MY98) and a matching rear end. The RHD->LHD project started...
The STI engine, transmission, etc is already into the MY99 Impreza and now it's WIRING time. After close examination of the Sti harness I realized that my only option is to extract the ECU/engine part of the STi and put it in place into the MY99 harness. Finding MY98 LHD Impreza GT harness is next to impossible, new at the local Subaru dealer is 2.5+K euro. However, finding MY02 harness can be quite easy (250-400USD in USA).
My question is whether I should go on making the harness or simply buy MY02 one? Can MY02 harness be easily adapted to MY98 (compared to converting the ones i already have)?
