Default Bit of a Knocking Noise!

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help.
My car runs fine and drives great. However when i come to a slow gradual stop on a rough surface road there appears to be a slight knocking noise coming from the front left wheel. It sounds like something is rattling/tapping. It only does it on uneven surfaces when underbreaking. If i g over a speed bump it doesnt seem to happen.
If anyone has any ideas as to what it could be, i appreciate any advise
Cheers
Craig

On a serious note, have you bothered to try and find out what it is, or have you looked and not found any answers
