Question R888s for 16s

Looking at getting some R888s for the upcoming ScoobySprint Championship and I'm running 16s

Normal tyre size is 205/50/16 but I can't see any R888s in that size

I have the option of

205/55/16
215/50/16
225/45/16

What should I go for? I don't think any of them are ideal as for the correcting diameter.

I run the 55 profile ones on my 16's, not anymore out than a 215/45/17.
Put the profiles into this and see what you think.

Tire size calculator

Dan

That's a cool calculator

225/45/16 has almost the same rolling radius - question is would the tyres rub? Hmm...

A narrow tyre on a wide rim is better than a wide tyre on a narrow rim....

e.g. 225/45/17 can be fitted to 7" rim ideal is 7.5" but can go onto a 9" rim as a maximum, so I would recommend the first tyre, unless your on a 7.5" rim and know it won't rub.

HTH

to clarify i have the 205/55/16 on OEM MY99 rims so 7in wide and have had no rubbing problems that i have noticed. But those rims and tyres only go on the car for track and drag days. Which have not totalled alot since i have bought them!
