Default missing and white smoke

could anyone help plz. After finally getting the forged engine back in to my sti classic after a year the car as got a miss fire and loads of white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Also could anyone tell me the oil to use to run the engine in with. the engine does sound a bit tappety but the hydraulic lifters have been out of the engine a year. thanks

White smoke normally means water being burnt indicating head gasket problem.

i get a lot of white smoke too... pretty sure its Not the head gasket tho.... but dont know what it is... *.*

dont think it be the head gasket as i only just built engine and the white smoke and missing is happening as soon as the key was turned

could be an injector mate, white smoke can also be unburnt fuel
