How much, roughly does a headgasket repair on a 2001 bugeye WRX cost? Whats involved and once done, are there any chances of it going again.

I would charge £650, it's usually around £800 though. Yes they can go again, but done correctly should last many years. It depends on all sorts of factors, such as warming up cooling down, is it modified etc etc.

Assuming just the gaskets need replacing (aside from cleaning up the heads/blocks mating faces) then, as said, up to £800. This will include uprated Multi Layer Steel head gaskets as a matter of course, which accounts for about a £100 of the total.

I think API charge £650 + VAT...

Actually £700 + VAT and no need for head bolts on that version and regular power Above 389 yes head bolts. Blow No.

We only keep and use STi head gaskets for all Subaru EJ series engines.
