performance mods+engine light
Hi im looking to do some work to engine to increase performance so looking for some ideas. got the engine light on dash on constantly to.....is this cos of the staight thro de cat exhaust system?as had car serviced mot'd etc and they said all was fine engine wise.

remap is about £650. Make sure you've done all your engine mods first or you'll be getting remapped again. Mine has similar issues, although no CEL, but I'm waiting for my intercooler and induction kit to be fitted as well as some other little bits before I remap. I'll just take it easy in the meantime

None.....if it's a bugeye WRX.
The ECU can cope with the extra airflow and change the fuelling / ignition to suit. You won't get any more top end BHP but a bit better spool up
Bugeye STi's have a bigger turbo and don't like a de-cat as dynamix has mentioned.
The bugeye WRX was pretty much crippled performance wise from the factory, a change of exhaust, a good panel filter and remap (EcuTeK usually) will transform a dull car to a very nice drive
