Loud Knocking noise and winning on WRX Classic - is it dead ??
Was out in my 1994 wrx today driving it quite hard and all of a sudden the engine started knocking an making a grinding/winning noise - would I be correct to say the bottom end has gone ??

either that or your idler tensioner is on its way out and the belt is hitting of the cover or loose crank pulley bolt. where is the noise coming from usual culprit is no3 cylinder for big ends.
