Post what does 'wilder cam profile' mean

As above, i ask this because ive been told that the cams in a v3 sti head are of a wilder profile then those of a v4.

I would like to know as i want to know whats best for my 1998 uk classic upgrade.

Wilder is just a slang term for a bigger cam lobe. Bigger lift/duration on the cam.

Hi joe cams are "rated" by:-
1. Lift
2. Duration
3. Overlap

1 is obvious more lift = more air in.
2 is the length of the crank rotation that the valve is open, longer = more air in.
3 is the amount of time both valves are open at TDC, aids purging of waste gases to increase efficiency.

Obviously this is a vastly simplified explaination, and doesn't carry a warranty !

As above,
Found this out when i went though my Vectra V6 phase lol
If you fit 3 litre cams to a 2.5V6 vectra, it basicly keeps the cams open for longer to allow more fuel in thus.... producing more power/energy, very simple mod taking a 2.5V6 vectra from 168bhp to 192bhp (GSI spec) for less than 150 quid bargin lol
