Stone cold oil at start up, then idle should be 3bar/45psi, IIRC.

When at normal temp, then about 2bar/30psi at idle; 6bar/90psi at near-max revs...

Cold idle should read 6bar ish(88psi), then 2-3bar(30-45psi) warm idle, 6bar ish when driving, revs are up.
Sounds like you have a earth problem.

The sender for the oil pressure is earthed through the engine block. Is it the type that has the screw terminal for the sender wire? Mine read full scale when the wire was loose. See my garage pic for the sender on top of the inlet.

Mine is pretty much the same as yours... and in the same location... the pressure and sender unit is all in one, and has a wire that runs to the gauge.

Although the unit does touch the coolant tank... will this break it?

Soryy Jamz, I told you wrong cold idle figure - but still don't explain the static 125psi... Prob that earth issue, then...

Ive just go the same gauge as you - my oil pressure is 100+ from cold
dropping to 30ish warm idle - not sure high revs warm yet (though at as quick glance its about 100 psi)
