Default 2.5 tuning???

Thinking on buying a hawkeye 2.5.
Are the WRX and STI just the same cars engine wise, if you mod both will you get the same power?? If not what are the differences??
Also what would I require to reach around 370-400bhp?? Not anymore
Thanks
Niall

Main difference engine wise is pistons.

This may help, applies to USDM but I doubt Euro models are different: Sti/wrx Motor Differences - NASIOC

As for tuning, both cars would need a bigger turbo and injectors to make those figures, but you'll get close on a STi with decat, fuel pump, panel filter and remap (350-360).

Having said that, a Hawkeye WRX with the same mods plus a turbo like a VF30/34/43 or TD05-16G/18G makes a really nice drivers car - IMHO of course

Yes, but the weak point on the std 2.5 is the pistons.

Seriously stick to below 400 bhp if you want it to last and be reliable. With the huge amount of torque available in the 2.5 STi (or indeed a 2.5 WRX with VF43 on it) you will comfortably get 350/400
