Where is the idle control valve on a 98 UK car?
As per thread title, thanks.
I'm wanting to clean it out, since my car exhibits the same symptoms as a dirty ICV. I ordered a gasket, but on inspection, the ICV does not appear to be in the same place as that shown on the NASIOC thread.
If anyone can post a pic of theirs, I'd be grateful.
Thanks.

Either it's just forward of the BOV pipe, in the middle of the manifold arm to left hand side rear cylinder.
If your car is really a MY99 model it's integrated in the throttle body.

if you look at the inlet manifold slightly to the right of centre you will see what looks like a circular beige cap with a plug plugged into the front. That is the Idle Control Solenoid

AdamK, that looks like mine, but it looks a ball-ache to get at. Anyone know if it is?
Oh, and anyone want to buy a NEWAGE gasket?
Cost me £6 odd, but I'll let it go for £3 posted. Unused, still in pack.
