What causes black smoke?
Hi all, as I am new to this site and Subaru's please bare with me.
I have a STI RA 96 import and have black smoke coming from exhaust only when driving hard and also the rear of the car has little black spots everywhere from the exhaust, these seem more to be soot marks rather than oil. Is this my car telling me it's over fuelling?

Ok, looks like it needs to go on a RR for a tune up, it has a Apexi FC commander on it and from what I have read it seems that most things can be adjusted thorugh this controller.
Will learn more over the next few weeks I guess.
