Question restrictor pill

Greetings all. I am the proud owner of a 2007 WRX TR. It has a Borla Hush exhaust, Megan racing down pipe and SPT cold air intake. No other engine mods. After I put on the Megan down pipe, I started experiencing an over boost condition under a load over 5000 rpm. The check engine light is flashing and I have a code for waste gate solenoid A performance/out of range. When I put the converter back on the condition disappeared. I put the Megan down pipe back on and the the problem is back. It apears to be overboosting. The Solenoid valve and actuator test good. I really don't want to use a programmer, don't really need any more HP. It has been suggested to me that the restrictor pill size should be changed. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Get a set of precision drills. The sizes should step up by 0.1mm, i.e. 1.4, 1.5, 1.6mm etc. Test which size you have and then step up to the next size, fit back into the boost control system and test drive the car. If the boost is still too high move up to the next size.

If you drill the pill out too far you'll lose boost pressure and will have to get a new pill and start again.

Good luck

If you go to far solder it up and then redrill, no need for a new pill
