Oil temp adaptor oil seep- is a Dowty seal suitable
My LMA067 gallery adaptor is showing small signs of oil seepage after 12+mths of being ok..!
Having cleaned it up last week to identify exactly where it's coming from (ie temp sender or M18 into block) it's definitely from the M18 into the block.
Would a Dowty seal be suitable for sealing this, as iirc I used one on the pressure sender when that had a seep after initial fitting..?
This way there's no chance of putting too much PTFE tape on and risking it dropping into the oil gallery
or screwing with the earthing..!
Basically, are Dowty seals able to deal with the heat of the block and +7bar of cold oil pressure..?

A Dowty would do it but they tend to be quite thick - would you have enough thread to screw into the block with the Dowty washer fitted ?
I normally use 1 1/2 turns of ptfe tape on the adaptor and a little smear of Wellseal and never had any problems.

Yea, it seems that they're fine, in fact I phoned LMA and on of their techy's said it will be fine and they're sticking one in the post FOC..
What's strange is that it's been fine for over a year, maybe it just needs tightening a little more, but I'm not able to get a torque wrench on it, so I'm afraid of overdoing it..!
I'll update when I've tried it..
