boost leak

Default boost leak

hi there,

can anyone help me out, i have a boost leak which is so annoying when i'm driving and soon as the boost comes in, i get this hissssshhhhh sound coming from the right side of the engine. i can also hear this sound in side the car near the right hand side airvent? could the boost solenoid be leaking?

Turbo-to-intercooler pipe split/disconnected? Dump valve's recirc hose split/disconnected?

they are all fine, i have recently changes them for samcos. what other things can it be?

I would inspect all the boost pipes. To and from the boost solenoid. If they all check out ok then I would remove the TMIC (i assume you still have the top mount). Have a look around where all the hoses were clamped onto the IC. If they were leaking at the clamp then you should see evidence of oil splatter (for want of a better word).

It would be that the clamp wasn't tightened enough or is worn and needs replacing.

Also - a rare(ish) one this - a split IC itslef! Not unheard of.

how can i test the dump valve? when the car is on full boost, i get a shhhhhh sound around right hand side of the engine!

i've checked all these hoses. could it be the boost solenoid that is leaking? is there anyway i can test it.
