Is changing the rear wheel bearings on a MY03 wrx something that can be done easily on the drive or do you need to press the bearings in/out.

They can be a pain in the ***. My advice would be take it to a garage for peace of mind. If they are not installed correctly you'll be doing it all again in 500miles. Unless you have all the tools, then the jobs a fish.
