Prob won't be an issue, as the recirc port will simply be venting to air instead (which is what you're after obviously).

The only issue is you might end up with not-so-smooth running, as when you come off boost e.g. a gearchange when accelerating, then the air that the ECU has accounted for with the fuelling is no longer entering the intake, so may overfuel a bit. However, that said, this'll only happen for a second or so at a time...

Can I not just blank the flange on the intercooler and re-circ pipe on the inlet manifold and it will stall the turbo?

Im the same mate, considering removing the dump valve for a bit of flutter. I'm a little concerned about doing it for risk of harming the turbo..

Have you heard of a divorced downpipe. My bro got one from the us for his supra. sounds awsome. effectively gives you an external wastegate without one. not cheap tho but cheaper than a new turbo.
